The Fripp Island Art Guild is thrilled to announce a rare and special Art Talk featuring Sonja Griffin Evans, an internationally collected artist whose work and voice are captivating audiences far beyond the Lowcountry. Join us Monday, February 3, from 7:00–8:30 PM, for an evening of art, history, and storytelling. Our guest speaker is not only an exceptional artist whose work is collected internationally, but also a gifted speaker and storyteller who will delight us with the rich Gullah history and cultural traditions that originate just down the road from Fripp Island. Her work is widely celebrated and continues to gain national attention—including a featured painting on the cover of November Pink Magazine. During this talk, she will explore the origins, meaning, and rising popularity of Gullah art. This genre is exploding on the contemporary art scene and gaining both national and international recognition. ✨ This is truly a rare treat.
